2012 AzTA/ADOT Transit Conference
April 23 – 24, 2012
Join us at the High Country Conference Center at Northern Arizona University on April 23-24, 2012 as AzTA begins its 25th Anniversary celebration with its co-host ADOT. This year’s theme is “Showcasing Value in Transit” and will feature three tracks including “Improving the Operation”, “Achieving Sustainability”, and “Partnering for Success”. Nearly 20 sessions will provide practitioners, planners, operators, and users with valuable information and skills to make public transportation programs and services better, while finding ways to meet the current economic challenges that face us all. AzTA’s many partners will bring new concepts to public transportation programs and attendees can gain important and relevant continuing education credits.
Highlights include keynote speaker Jarrett Walker, who’s recent book “Human Transit”, will be the basis for an entertaining and thought provoking approach to meeting the challenges of a growing population and transportation infrastructure. As AzTA begins celebration of its 25th Anniversary, it will publish an Anniversary Commemorative Edition Magazine highlighting Arizona’s public transportation history, current programs, and future opportunities and challenges. This collector’s edition is an opportunity to preserve AzTA’s place in the growth of Arizona as part of this year’s conference. Be sure to get your copy as part of the conference registration!
The conference will feature several other important activities, including hosting Arizona’s only Transit Exhibitor/Vendor show on April 23, 2012, and ADOT’s first Maintenance Roadeo on April 21-22, all the while experiencing northern Arizona’s spring weather with some great outdoor activities.
