ARIZONA TRANSIT ASSOCIATION APPOINTS NEW BOARD MEMBERS
The Arizona Transit Association (AzTA), at their Monday, January 9th board meeting, appointed Neal Young, Acting Public Transit Director for the City of Phoenix and Jack Pisano, Veolia Transportation’s General Manager for the City of Tempe to the AzTA Board of Directors. Neal Young was recently appointed to his position as Acting Public Transit Director for the City of Phoenix in November, 2011. Prior to serving as Director, Neal was the Acting Assistant Water Services Director. In this role he managed the department’s Water Services Efficiency Study. He has more than 28 years of experience leading organizations, operations and programs. Neal has a Master’s degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University.
Jack Pisano has 28 years of professional transportation experience in both the private and public sectors with more than 20 years in senior management roles. For the past five years he has served as Veolia Transportation’s General Manager for the City of Tempe. Prior, Jack was the General Manager for Veolia’s San Diego facility and has served in the same capacity and area Vice President for other transportation companies. He is a member of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is also designated as a Certified Community Transit Manager (CCTM) from the Community Transportation Association of America.
AzTA is a statewide not-for-profit public/private transit association providing advocacy and education of public transportation services and programs. The 24 member Board of Directors represents over 400 members including operators, service suppliers, vendors, businesses, agencies, local and regional governments. The Association believes a fully funded public transportation network that is accessible to all Arizona residents and visitors is crucial to a sustainable and progressive Arizona. Sound transit infrastructure investments provide travel options for work, education, recreation, health care and more.
