Safety and Security Officer

General Description/Information

The Safety & Security Officer performs in a lead role in the Sun Link Streetcar Safety and Security Department within Sun Link and is considered fully functional in all aspects of streetcar operations, safety and security. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day safety and security requirements of Sun Link staff/consultant design engineers, local jurisdictions and other transit agency staff, contracted operators, and affected community and business groups during the planning, design, and implementation of projects that support service delivery related to the safety and security of a streetcar system.

Qualifications/Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; minimum five years of increasingly responsible experience in the safety and security of heavy or light rail systems, including at least three years of supervisory experience; experience in a union environment is a plus. Other related transit experience may be considered.
