Totalride Celebrates National School Bus Safety Week

10.26.2018

Held during the third full week of October each year, National School Bus Safety Week is an active and evolving public education program and an excellent way for parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety. Designed to promote school bus safety, private schools and public school districts throughout the country observe School Bus Safety Week.

Our Bus Drivers go through an extensive training class consisting of 18 hours of classroom, and 20 hours of behind the wheel training, and eight hours of annual refresher training. Additionally, we credential all of our drivers to a level that exceeds most standards to include fingerprinting, background check, drug testing and physical performance test required by DPS before a CDL and School Bus driver certification can be obtained.

We provide the safest mode of transportation to and from school for close to 13,000 students. We serve the Southern Arizona area each school day a safe and reliable fleet of buses.
Our school buses travel over 500 miles each day, and over 110,000 miles annually, including regularly scheduled routes, field trips, athletics events, and special education route.
‚ÄúTotalride is pleased to participate in National School Bus Safety Week and wants to recognize school administrators and law enforcement for their commitment to the safe transportation of students,” said Steve Hamelin, Totalride COO. “At Totalride, our mission is to provide safe, and reliable student transportation to the students, parents and residents of Tucson.
