Safety and Training Director

Compensation: $64,853-$81,067

General Description/Information

Develops, directs and administers organizational-wide safety and training programs. Assists the director of Safety and Security with safety and training at Sun Tran, Sun Van and Sun Link. Ensure compliance with Federal Transportation requirements, OSHA logs and management compliance

Responsibilities/Duties

QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION:
 Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 2 years of experience related to job tasks or equivalent. Knowledge of self-insurance programs preferred. Must have or be able to obtain a CDL with a passenger endorsement.

Qualifications/Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry. 
 Communicates safety/training policies and practices at various public meetings, including bargaining and administrative employees. 
 Reviews and monitors operator evaluations to assure adherence to safety training standards. Conducts/coordinates route safety checks. 
 Investigates accidents involving vehicles and personnel. Records information and distributes to appropriate departments. Makes recommendations as appropriate to prevent recurrence. 
 Investigates/administers passenger injury complaints and motor vehicle accidents. 
 Inputs information into auto/general liability and workers compensation insurance databases. 
 Analyzes safety performance statics and claim investigation data. Prepared and distributed trend and graphical reports as needed. 
 Assist in settling personal injury and property damage claims by collecting, analyzing and evaluating claims information and make recommendation on settlements of claims. 
 Evaluate claims for possible settlements with outside Third-Party Adjusters when required. 
 Assists operators with legal proceedings, to include accompany employees to court matters as needed. 
 Inspects vehicles, facilities and working environment for adherence to safety standards. 
 Works with medical clinic to ensure that all personal injuries are treated in the most expeditious and cost-effective manner. 
 Completes and submits paperwork required for annual renewals of Public Liability Property Damage, EPL and Worker’s Compensation insurance policies. 
 Maintains files, records and forms relating to accidents, injuries and incidents as required by OSHA, state laws and local policies and procedures. 
 Perform other duties as assignments.
